Rewiring, Renovations & Additions

From kitchen remodels to additions, electrical that integrates cleanly with your home.

Rewiring, Renovations & Additions

Renovation electrical is a different sport than new wiring in an empty wall. You are working around existing circuits, hidden splices, and choices the original electrician made decades ago. We map what is already there before we add to it, fix the legacy issues that should have been handled years ago, and bring the affected part of the home up to current code. When we open up walls and find old wiring like knob and tube, we document it and give you a clear path to deal with it.

Often paired with knob & tube rewiring, panel upgrades, and lighting & pot lights. We coordinate the whole job under a single permit when it makes sense.

FAQ

Rewiring & Renovations: questions we hear most.

Real answers from a licensed electrician. If you don’t see yours, call us and we’ll work through it.

01Do you work alongside other trades on a renovation?
Yes. Renovation electrical only goes well when it is sequenced properly with the framer, drywaller, plumber, and HVAC trades. We coordinate timing directly with whoever is managing the job.
02What if you find knob and tube during demolition?
It happens often in older London homes. We document what is exposed, give you a clear price to remove it, and bring the affected part of the house up to current code.
03Do bathrooms need special wiring?
Yes. Bathrooms require GFCI protection on receptacles, properly vented exhaust fans, and correct separation between vanity lighting and shower fixtures. We meet or exceed the current Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
04Can you add a sub-panel for a finished basement?
Yes. If your existing panel is at capacity, a sub-panel is often the cleanest way to support new circuits for pot lights, a home theatre, a sauna, or a workshop.
